ABOUT

INSTRUCTOR - BILLY MO

Grew up in China, I have been studying piano for 20 years. At age of sixteen, I got accepted by one of the best music schools in the United States—Oberlin Conservatory and was granted a four-year scholarship. There, I studied under the Chairman of the department Robert Shannon, who is the pupil of Ashkenazy and Dorothy Taubman. Later I received my Master of Music degree from the Moores School of Music, studied with one of the best teachers in Houston Nancy Weems.

I taught more than 80 students from 5 to 18 years old, helped them improve in terms of sight reading, technique and musical expression. I have instilled the love of the piano in many, many students throughout the years. I understand what it takes to connect with the student and what approaches to take to teach piano performance successfully. I was a teaching assistant in Oberlin Conservatory, gained enough experience working with advanced students.

I am currently serving as a board member for the Houston Music Teachers Association and is also a member of the Music Teachers National Association, and the Texas Music Teachers Association
